HELICOIL,® for high-strength fasteners The HELICOIL® insert threads allow very resistant fasteners in soft metals. Helical coils have been on the market for more than 50 years. Function of helicoils With HELICOIL® plus insert threads, you can obtain precision threads that are highly resistant to stress, heat, corrosion and wear. The HELICOIL® plus are available in standard "Free running" and "Screwlock" versions. The difference in red and green color of the different HELICOIL® versions makes it easy to identify them after they are placed. HELICOIL® inserts can be expressed in the metric system or in inches, and are also available in special dimensions Types of HELICOIL® - HELICOIL® plus: The helicoils, made from a rhombic section laminated yarn, are available in "Free running" or "Screwlock" versions. Our quality mark, a rhombic punch at the end of the last thread loop, proves that every Böllhoff HELICOIL® plus insert is unequivocally an original product. - HELICOIL® tangfree without intruder: Unlike HELICOIL® plus, HELICOIL® tangfree does not have an intruder, which is why a breaker is not required for the placement of tangfree helicoils. Thus, the HELICOIL® tangfree can be placed on both sides with guaranteed quality. Tangfree helicoils represent the latest version of HELICOIL® insert thread technology. Tangfree helicoils are compatible with all HELICOIL® systems. This means that: - They allow the combination in the use of the already defined installation tools for both HELICOIL® plus and HELICOIL® tangfree - No modifications to the design are necessary Tangfree® is a registered trademark of the Böllhoff Group. - HELICOIL® twinsert: Is the tap completely torn off? Is the thread diameter too big? In these cases, the ideal solution for repair is HELICOIL® plus TWINSERT. The HELICOIL® plus TWINSERT consists of two HELICOIL® plus insert threads: the outer one is of the "Free Running" type and the inner one can be of the "Free running" or "Screwlock" type. - HELICOIL® Fee Running: Each coil loop of the helicoils made from a rhombic section thread is "Free running". The result is an internal thread to control with a gauge and that can be used on both sides. After placement, HELICOIL® plus is very easy to identify thanks to its green color. Our quality mark, a rhombic punch at the end of the last thread loop, proves that every Böllhoff HELICOIL® plus insert is unequivocally an original product. - HELICOIL® Screwlock: The HELICOIL® plus Screwlock range of helicoils has the same advantages with respect to threads as the HELICOIL® plus "Free running". But in addition, the shape of its filleting produces the brake of the screw. The threading of HELICOIL® plus Screwlock helicoils has one or more polygonal coils that produce a great friction that prevents any risk of screw unscrewing (thermal shocks or vibrations). HELICOIL® plus Screwlock are identified by their red colour and can only be used with screws of class 8.8 or less.
